Both, I have zero complaints so far, mind you I have been doing 12s almost everyday and haven't gamed since I bought it lol. Yeah man, next time you upgrade, get something similar

So I want to buy a new CPU soon. Will I have to upgrade my motherboard? or anything else?

Only upgrades I have done since is a couple more TB and a gtx970. Was thinking about buying a new i5/i7.

Yeah you'll need a new motherboard with a new CPU. Most new motherboards required DDR4 ram now, so you need that too.
